Yet another compounded case of molestation & this time it cost only $5,000?!?!

In the previous case involving a woman being molested 4 times by one Dr Oh Soon Hock, the accused 'enjoyed' the charges to be compounded for a global sum of $15,000.

In this case, also involving a doctor by name of Dr Thiyagarajan Mathimaran, the victim was molested once and the cost involved was $5,000. Again the offence was compounded.

What the message are we trying to give here? That if the 'market' rate of compounded offence for molest is currently at $5,000 for every count of molestation? That is terrible!!

I'm not questioning the guilt or innocence of the accused. I'm just wondering whether this compounded case is just confusing all of us on what actually happened...

A medical doctor accused of molesting a female staff at Changi General Hospital was cleared on Wednesday after he had compounded the offence.

Dr Thiyagarajan Mathimaran, 33, has paid $5,000 to the 42-year-old woman whom he allegedly molested in a staff toilet at the hospital on Simei Street 3 on Jan 1, 2011.

The woman was present in court.

The Indian national, represented by Mr K. R. Manicka, was attached to the urology department of the hospital at the time.
