Rachelle Ann Beguia & her case of Courage under Fire...under a LOT of fire!!

Rachelle Ann Beguia has apologized for her incredibly insensitive comments.

Cue for this song, "Insensitive" by Jann Arden. Heh.

Well, Rachelle Ann Beguia...you for sure have some advice to give on how to be insensitive.

It's not really unexpected to hear how a police report was made against you (possibly more than 1 report!). Neither is it a surprise that your employer, the National Heart Centre will conduct an official enquiry into those 'insensitive' comments of yours.

What I'm wondering now is that whether the apology is due to the above. In other words, are you really sincere, Rachelle Ann Beguia?!?!

You might prefer begging the outraged Singaporeans with the respectful, "paumanhin po talaga". I'd say, though, it's too late...you reap what you sow, girl.

I wish to express my sympathy to you, but nah, you don't deserve any of it!!

The National Heart Centre yesterday said on its Facebook page that it will conduct an official enquiry into the 'insensitive" comments made by Rachelle Ann Beguia on MP Penny Low's Facebook page.

Ms Beguia, a foreigner, described Singaporeans as "moronic" whose "loyalty" and "patriotism" will be dropped "at the first sign of trouble."

She added that Singaporean NSmen will "declare they are ready to pack up and run" when asked to fight a war.

She posted these comments in Ms Low's defence when the latter apologised for using her iPhone when the national anthem was being sung during the National Day Parade.

She had tried to urge Ms Low to ignore the angry comments made by some Singaporeans on the Facebook page by implying that the Singaporeans were too ignorant to comment on the situation.

Ms Beguia apologised for her comments at about 1pm yesterday afternoon on Ms Low's Facebook page.

"I am very sorry for the insensitive comments I have posted earlier. It was a lack of judgement. For those who have been hurt by those comments. I am very sorry once again."

Two hours later, The National Heart Centre said on their Facebook page:

"We sincerely regret the insensitive comments made by Ms Rachelle Ann Beguia.

"Although she posted those comments in her own capacity, National Heart Centre Singapore does not condone to such behaviour.

"We have always advocated to our staff that they should be respectful at all times, courteous and constructive when engaging in media platforms.

"An official enquiry will be conducted and appropriate actions will be taken accordingly."

Ms Rachelle Ann Beguia, who incurred the ire of many netizens with her comments on MP Penny Low's Facebook wall, has apologised. A police report was also apparently made against her.

The complainant disclosed online that he was meeting the IO (Investigating Officer) today (Aug 12).

Ms Beguia used words like 'moronic' and 'incompetent' to describe Singaporeans when she commented on MP Penny Low's Facebook page, after the latter apologised for using her iPhone when the Anthem was being sung during the National Day Parade.

The National Heart Centre said that they will conduct an official enquiry into the "insensitive" comments made by Ms Beguia. She is believed to be a clerk at the National Heart Centre.

Ms Beguia apologised for her comments in a Facebook post yesterday (Aug 11). She said:

"I am very sorry for the insensitive comments I have posted earlier. It was a lack of judgement. For those who have been hurt by those comments. I am very sorry once again."

From STOMP, "Foreigner who insulted S'poreans on MP's FB: 'Sorry, it was a lack of judgement'".
